PRODUCT & QUALITY

Are your avocados really certified organic?

Yes. We're USDA Organic Certified, registered with CDFA's Organic program, and inspected annually by Organic Certifiers. Because the fruit is organic, do not be surprised if the exterior has minor blemishes or imperfections. This is normal.

Do you use Apeel?

Absolutely Not! We never use Apeel, or any coating. We grow our organic avocados with loving care, we pick them to order, and ship them direct from our ranch to your home. Simple as that.

Why do you sell by weight instead of count?

Avocados vary dramatically in size. A 6 lb box might contain 6 large Reeds or 15 small Hass. Weight guarantees fair value.

What's a "greenskin" avocado?

Some varieties (Bacon, Zutano, Fuerte, Reed, Pinkerton) stay green when ripe.
Every box includes our Variety & Ripening / Storage Guide.

How long will it take to ripen?
  • When they arrive: likely firm
  • On the counter: can be anywhere from 2-14 days
  • Once ripe: move to fridge. You can store in fridge for another 1-2 weeks.

To speed ripening, place in a paper bag (add new bananas to speed it up more).

SUBSCRIPTIONS

Do you offer subscriptions?

Yes! Every avocado box — our Curated Variety Box and each single variety — is available as a subscription, with 10-20% off every shipment.

- 10% off monthly
- 12% off every 3 weeks
- 15% off every 2 weeks
- 20% off weekly

Available in 3 lb, 6 lb, or 12 lb.

Pause, skip, or cancel anytime.

How do subscriptions work?

You choose:
- Any single variety, or our Curated Variety Box
- Box size: 3 lb, 6 lb, or 12 lb
- Frequency: weekly (20% off), every 2 weeks (15% off), every 3 weeks (12% off), or monthly (10% off)

If you choose the Curated Variety Box, we curate the mix based on season.

You control: switch, skip, reschedule, pause or cancel anytime.

Can I get a subscription for just one variety?

Yes! Every single variety is available as a subscription, not just the Curated Variety Box.

Keep in mind varieties are seasonal — if your chosen variety goes out of season or sells out, we'll notify you and help you switch to what's currently available.

How do I manage or cancel?

Your confirmation email includes a subscription management link, and you'll also receive an email two days before every shipment with the same link. Use your subscription management portal any time to:

- Switch your subscribed product or variety
- Reschedule your next shipment (earlier or later)
- Skip your next order
- Pause or cancel your subscription
- Send an order to a friend or family member — update the shipping address for one shipment, then switch it back to your own address afterward

GIVING BACK

What is Safe Passage Youth Foundation?

VARIETIES & AVAILABILITY

How do I know which variety to choose?

Not sure? Start with our Curated Variety Not sure? Start with our Curated Variety Box for a rotating mix of what's tasting best. If you have a favorite, order that specific variety when it's in season — every variety is available as a one-time purchase or subscription.

When will specific varieties be available?

California avocados have distinct seasons:

  • Early: Bacon, Zutano (late fall-winter)
  • Mid: Fuerte, Hass, Pinkerton, Luna, GEM (winter-spring-summer)
  • Late: Lamb Hass, Reed (summer-fall)
Do you grow other varieties?

Yes! Our ranch is the Premier Organic Ranch in California. In addition to our 9 main varieties, we also grow rare heritage varieties: Mexicola, Jim Bacon, Leavens Hass, Carmen Hass, Ettinger, Sir Prize, Nobel, and Stewart.

These are so limited we will not sell them in One Time boxes, but they may show up in Curated Variety Subscription Boxes when available.

Can I request ripe vs. unripe fruit?

No, sorry. We pick your order when we receive it and ship it out to you. Depending on the variety and time of the season, it may take fewer (i.e. 2) or more (i.e. 12) days to ripen. Once ripe, store in fridge for up to 1-2 weeks. Seriously, this works! Also, to speed ripening, place in paper bag with fresh bananas.

ABOUT THE BUSINESS

Who runs Levi's Organic Avocados?

Levi is the Founder and handles social media and community involvement.

He is being mentored on avocados, farming, and business by his dad, David. David runs ranch operations, and learned from his Dad, Ed.

Levi’s mom Kelly helps in all things and his younger brother Riley specializes in video editing.

Our ranch team includes farm manager Manolo, foreman Miguel, and 10 dedicated ranch workers who've been with the family for years.

Levi had the vision but this is a team effort!

Is this really a family ranch?

Yes. Levi's grandfather Ed bought the first ranch in 1983 and established Jefferson Farms. Today we farm about 250 acres in Somis, California with 17 varieties.

We are the Premier Organic ranch in California. We're USDA certified organic and have been since 2016.
